Jeffrey S. Lemansky
UPcycler in Chief
Jeffrey S. Lemansky is the Founder & UPcycler in chief at UPcyclity Inc. and UPcycled City where he oversees all things UPcycled.
Jeffrey is an innovative change agent and socially conscious marketer with a history of developing brand strategies that cross cultural boundaries. He has a
rich history of uncovering emerging trends and ideation of innovative consumer products that deliver a solid foothold with consumers. Much of his penchant for UPcycling and good design comes from his interest in art history and years spent traveling the world and working in product development in emerging markets.
His love for the earth and our environment can be traced back to his upbringing in a small town on the Atlantic Ocean at the Jersey shore (not that Jersey Shore).
He is a founder Pepe & Sherina Designs whose innovative Upcycling of clothing waste materials has resulted in the creation of a line of UPcycled Sock Monkeys products, and now UPcyclty Inc. and www. UPcycledCity.com. All three companies are dedicated to promoting UPcycling and social responsibility.
Jeffrey has also worked as a consultant to companies to help them focus on environmental disciplines that will give them an edge in today’s world of Green Marketing. By incorporating eco-friendly strategies in a company’s marketing and value propositions, it adds a social dimension and results in making social responsibility an integral part of their business strategy thus strengthening their competitiveness within their chosen industry.
Jeffrey has a Master of Business Administration from the Graziadio School of Business and Management, and a Certification for Social, Environmental and Ethical business Practices (SEER) from Pepperdine University, and a BBA with an emphasis in Marketing from Drexel University
Sheriann Ki Sun Burnham
Sheri was born in Seoul, South Korea and came to the U.S. at the age of two years old. Growing up in an artistic household, she was taught drawing and painting by her mother, Dorothy, a formerly trained fine and commercial artist, which led to her own career as a visual artist and designer. While in college at Cal State University Long Beach she became interested in computers and was in the first computer graphics class offered in the CSULB art department. Sheri embraced the new technology without discarding more traditional and hand made artistic processes.
Growing up on the coastal beaches of Southern California, Sheri realized at an early age the importance of respecting and caring for our natural resources. She was deeply influenced by the first Earth Day and the environmental movement of the 1970’s. Throughout her dual career as both a fine artist and designer, she has always strived to employ economically resourceful practices resulting in her sustainable values for life and work. In design Sheri is a creative visual thinker, who believes in re-shaping design complexities into clear visual solutions. This is demonstrated by her own mixed media art work, (viewable here) that blends high tech with UPcycling by combining natural found objects with her hand and digitally made elements. She is also a founder of Pepe & Sherina Designs whose innovative Upcycling of clothing waste materials has resulted in the creation of a line of UPcycled Sock Monkeys products.
