UPcycled City is committed to upholding a high standard when it comes to our privacy practices. It’s important to us that you’re comfortable, so we provide options for you to control how much information you share and your communication preferences. We use secure technologies and follow best practices. We believe in being transparent about our practices, which is why we provide a detailed Privacy Policy to explain how we gather, use and protect your information. We’ve pulled out the highlights here, in an effort to better communicate the key points.

Information Collected

UPcycled City requires a member to provide a valid email address and choose an alias connected with your site activity. Depending on the services you choose, additional information may be collected, for example: billing or payment information, a telephone number, and a physical address.

You may optionally choose to provide your full name and other personal information (such as birthday, gender, location) to be publicly displayed.

We may use cookies, clear gifs, log files, and flash cookies for several purposes, including to help understand how people interact with our site and services, in order to provide a better experience.

Uses and Sharing

We use the information that we gather from our users in a number of ways, including to provide and improve our services, for targeted online marketing, and to communicate with you. We also partner with service providers and other third parties that collect, use, and analyze information about UPcycled City users.

UPcycled City will not sell or disclose your personal information to third parties without your explicit consent, except as specified in our Privacy Policy.


You may review and change your information in your account settings, and you may remove certain optional pieces of information.

You may opt-out of receiving certain types of communications from UPcycled City in your account settings. We do not currently respond to “do not track” browser headers. You may limit certain tracking by disabling cookies in your web browser.

We appreciate your commitment to be part of the Upcycling community. We believe in transparency, and we’re committed to being upfront about our privacy practices, including how we treat personal information we collect on our members. We know you care about your privacy, so we provide settings that allow you to control how certain information is used on UPcycled City. This policy explains our privacy practices for (hereby known as the “Site”) and services provided by UPcyclity Inc. By visiting the Site, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. Any external links to other websites are clearly identifiable as such, and we are not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of these other websites.

Information Collected

UPcycled City will not disclose your name, email address or other personal information to third parties, except as specified in this policy.

As a member of UPcycled City, you are required to provide a valid email address at registration and choose an alias that represents your identity on the Member’s Public Profile Page.

Depending on which services you choose to use, UPcycled City may require additional information, such as a shop name, billing and payment information (including billing address, telephone number and credit card information), a telephone number, and/or a physical postal address. As a shop owner, UPcycled City may require information such as your social security number, identification ID or tax ID, date of birth, bank account information, credit card information and/or other proof of identification in order to verify your identity and provide this service to you. Credit card information on an account may be stored and used for both billing and payment purposes.

UPcycled City requires that all sellers to be certified as an UPcycler by passing our certification process. UPcycled City may also contact individual shop owners to confidentially request more information about their shops or items listed on the Site, to ensure compliance with our rules and to maintain transparency with all our stakeholders.

UPcycled City automatically receives and records some information from your browser or your mobile device when you visit the Site, such as your IP address or unique device identifier, cookies and data about which pages you visit on the Site. This information helps us analyze and understand how the Site works for members and visitors and provides a more personalized experience for members and visitors.

UPcycled City may receive or collect information (for example: an email address) about a person who is not yet a registered member (a “non-member”) in connection with certain UPcycled City features, including but not limited to: a non-member subscribing to our newsletter, a member inviting a non-member to visit the Site, a non-member engaging in a transaction. Non-member information is used only for the purpose it was originally submitted. A non-member can contact, if they do not want the Site to retain their information.

UPcycled City uses the information described in this policy to provide and improve our services and products, for billing and payments, for identification and authentication purposes, to contact members or interested parties, and for general research and aggregate reporting.

UPcycled City’s Terms of Use require all account owners to be at least 18 years of age (or have the permission and supervision of a responsible parent or legal guardian), therefore, this policy does not discuss use of our Site or services by minors.

Choice & Control

We know members of our community value having control over their own information, and therefore UPcycled City gives you the choice of providing, editing or removing certain information, as well as choice over how we contact you.

You may change or correct your account information (except your username) on the Site. You may also remove certain optional information on the Site that you no longer wish to be publicly visible, such as your full name.

For various reasons, UPcycled City may contact you about our services or your activity. Some of these messages are required, service-related messages for members.
If you no longer wish to use UPcycled City’s services or receive service-related messages, then you may close your account.

Messages from UPcycled City

On occasion, UPcycled City will contact you. Primarily, messages are delivered by email or by push notifications, and every account is required to keep a valid email address on file to receive messages.

Some messages from UPcycled City are service-related and required for members. Examples of service-related messages include, but are not limited to: a welcome/confirmation email when you register your account, notification of an order, or correspondence with UPcycled City’s support team. These messages are not promotional in nature. You may not opt-out of receiving these service-related messages, unless you close your account.

As a member, we may also send you messages related to certain features or your activity on the Site. UPcycled City may also send you news or updates about changes to our Site or services. By default, members will receive these messages via email or push notification.

UPcycled City offers optional email newsletters. When you register for an account and choose to subscribe, you will receive newsletters from us. Newsletters are available to both members and non-members. Members may subscribe or unsubscribe from optional newsletters under their account settings or by following the instructions contained in the newsletter emails. Non-members may subscribe by providing an email address, which will only be used by UPcycled City for these newsletters. Non-members may unsubscribe from newsletters by following the instructions contained in the newsletter emails.


UPcycled City is both a marketplace and a community. We offer features that allow members to connect and communicate in public or semi-public spaces, such as commenting on articles or DIY features posted in our community section. Please use common sense and good judgment when posting in these community spaces or sharing your personal information with others on UPcycled City. Be aware that any personal information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by others, or could be used to send you unsolicited messages. UPcycled City generally does not remove content from community spaces, and your posts may remain public after your account is closed. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to post in community spaces on the Site.

Information Sharing & Disclosure

We respect your privacy. UPcycled City will not disclose your name, email address or other personal information to third parties without your explicit consent, except as specified in this policy.

UPcycled City limits access to your personal information to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

As part of the buying and selling process, UPcycled City will facilitate the sharing of information between the two members involved in the transaction. As part of the buying or selling process, you may obtain another member’s email address, shipping address, payment information, and/or other information. As described in UPcycled City’s Terms of Use, you have a limited license to use this information, and only for transaction-related communications. UPcycled City has not granted you a license to use the information for unsolicited commercial messages. Without express consent from that person, you must not add any UPcycled City member to your email or physical mailing list.

UPcycled City may release your personal information to a third-party in order comply with a subpoena or other legal requirement, or when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with the law; prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss; or investigate or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or violations of UPcycled City’s Terms of Use. We may disclose personally identifiable information to parties in compliance with our Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy in the Terms of Use, as we in our sole discretion believe necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement, piracy, or other unlawful activity. In such events, UPcycled City may disclose a name, address, country, phone number, email address and company name.

UPcycled City employs other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf, and we need to share your information with them to provide products and services to you. Examples include but are not limited to fulfilling orders, processing payments, handling billing disputes and collections, analyzing data, providing mapping services, preventing fraud, improving performance and stability of the Site, providing marketing assistance and providing customer service. UPcycled City may partner with third-party services for fraud prevention and/or identity verification.

When you a load a page on UPcycled City that has a social plug-in from a third-party site or service, such as a Like or Send button, you are also loading content from that third-party site. That site may request cookies directly from your browser. These interactions are subject to the privacy policy of the third-party site.

This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that UPcycled City does not own or control, or individuals that UPcycled City does not employ or manage. If you provide your information to others on UPcycled City or throughout the Internet, different rules may apply to the use or disclosure of the information you provide to them. UPcycled City does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. UPcycled City is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of other websites on the Internet, even those linked to or from the Site. We encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.

We reserve the right to transfer information (including your personal data) to a third party in the event of a sale, merger, liquidation, receivership or transfer of all or substantially all of the assets of our company provided that the third party agrees to adhere to the terms of our Privacy Policy and provided that the third party only uses your personal data for the purposes that you provided it to us. You will be notified in the event of any such transfer and you will be afforded the opportunity to opt-out.


The security of your personal information is important to us. Your UPcycled City account information is protected by a password. It is important that you protect against unauthorized access of your account and information by choosing your password carefully, and keeping your password and computer secure by signing out after using our services.

UPcycled City follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Retention

UPcycled City will retain your information only for as long as is necessary including as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you no longer want UPcycled City to use your information to provide you services, you may close your account. UPcycled City will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may inform us of any changes or requests in regards to your personal data, and in accordance with our obligations under local data protection law, we may update or delete your personal data accordingly.
